The Opportunity:

This is a newly created opportunity
Chance to be the sole analyst supporting directly two highly experienced Portfolio Managers, affording you unparalleled exposure to their investment process
The employer is a very prestigious asset manager with an enviable reputation and a commitment to Emerging Market fund management
This role will suit the career minded equity analyst, offering ultimately a route to fund management (assuming you have realistic time-scales)
Through the provision of deep fundamental analysis, you will be contributing investment ideas to both retail and institutional funds, with Global Emerging Market assets under management totalling circa $2 billion AuM

Your Experience:

You will be an experienced equity analyst, with relevant buy-side experience
Your investment process will be very fundamental in nature. It is expecting that you will be able to build financial models from scratch with the ability to assess relative valuations, and, have a strong appreciation of the impact of country risk on valuation models etc.
In terms of your specific experience, you must have demonstrable Emerging Market equity research experience and a PASSION for emerging market investing
You will most likely have familiarity with the EMEA region, including ideally, strengths in maybe Russia, South Africa, India, Brazil. A PURE LatAM or Asian analyst will not be considered appropriate I'm afraid
This is an equity analyst role. Ambition to be a fund manager will be fine, however, your time-scales will need to be realistic
You will possess an analytical and inquisitive mind, plus, strong communication skills both verbal and written
A pass at CFA level 1 is essential and a minimum requirement - passes at level 2 or 3 preferred
A record of academic achievement from a top-tier University within a relevant numerate discipline
