A large, prestigious hedge fund is looking to hire a trader in London to join their macro tail risk fund as an US equity focused volatility trader. The group are looking for candidates who have excellent academic backgrounds and who have already established a strong understanding trading volatility on a relative value basis. Ideally, this experience will have been in the US (S&P) equity derivative market. However, the main criteria is to have an exceptionally strong technical skill set. It is expected that the successful candidate will come from a vol desk or an exotic desk from a top tier investment bank. Traders whose experience on an exotic desk must have a natural desire and appetite to generate alpha. Candidates from an non-equity background will very much be considered especially if they have direct experience trading relative value volatility strategies. This is a group that is regarded as one of the very strongest in the market and the seats in the team are highly sought after. Therefore, the mandate is fiercely competitive and our client are interested in truly top tier candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity and has a great chances for career progression.
2-5 years trading experience
Successful track record in working in relative value volatility trading, ideally in US equity derivative markets.

This is a role in London to trade relative value volatility on US (S&P) equity derivative markets with a top tier hedge fund. This would be to work along a top portfolio manager in a buyside fund who has a strong sustained track record of success in RV Vol trading.
