Job Description
Role Purpose:
- Proactively service UHNW clients by providing first class investment advice
- Provide discretionary and non-discretionary portfolio management services to existing and prospective UNHW clients of the Bank.
- Act as a key contact person for Private Office related clients with a focus on the UK market
- Cover a holistic approach to portfolio management and encompasses all major financial asset classes (bonds, equities, forex, structured products, funds, commodities etc.)
- Align all accounts towards the Bank's investment strategy and manage all accounts accordingly
- Work with Private Bankers and Investment Consultants to develop new client relationships and provide support in way of recommendations and portfolio proposals for new and prospective clients
- Regular face-to-face client contact and client meetings abroad
- Ensure compliance with all local regulatory policies and guidelines
- Complies with relevant Group Policies, considers and escalates the adequacy and effectiveness of the business's controls on a regular basis
- Follows and/or maintains operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet Group and local policy requirements
- Ensure client documentation is complete and investment objectives are clear
- Assume an ambassadorial role in promoting this investment service and the investment philosophy applied
Key Accountabilities: Criteria by which success can be measured
- Provide outstanding client service to a dedicated number of clients in all investment related matters
- Act as ambassador of the UHNW Portfolio Management Service
- Generate revenues in line with Bank plan
- Manage discretionary and non-discretionary mandates in line with operating procedures and in compliance with internal and external regulations
- Semi-annual portfolio reviews, CAP scores, financial errors
- Feedback from clients
- Feedback from Private Bankers
Skills:
- Banking/advisory/portfolio management background combined with professional qualification ie CFA or CIIA
- Excellent knowledge about financial markets and different asset classes preferably with an edge in equity markets
- Excellent English is a must (preference for native speaker) with additional languages highly desirable
- Excellent communication and proven client management skills with the ability to express complex ideas in a clear and comprehensive manner
- Very strong client facing and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, 'can-do' approach- capable of working with strategic thought and action
Required Experience:
- Proven experience of working as an investment advisor/portfolio manager (minimum of 10 years in the financial industry)
- Good understanding of financial markets and portfolio management with the technical expertise and ability to discuss a broad spectrum of asset classes in a credible manner
- Proven understanding of the needs of clients and Private Bankers
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, delivery-focused, driven manner
