AOL Scoops Up Reuters Exec as HR Chief

By mia lamar

AOL Inc. has named former Thomson Reuters Corp. executive John Reid-Dodick as its new head of human resources, marking the Internet company's latest effort to reshape its top ranks.

Reid-Dodick previously worked as global head of human resources for the markets division of Thomson Reuters. He started with the former Reuters in 1995, prior to its 2008 acquisition by the former Thomson Corp. He fills a role previously held at AOL by Kathy Andreasen, whose departure from the Internet company announced in July as part of a broad management shakeup.

Reid-Dodick will be based at AOL's headquarters in New York and report directly to Chief Executive Tim Armstrong. A series of high-profile defections over the past year, including that of former Silicon Valley head Brad Garlinghouse, have raised some doubts about Armstrong's ability to stem a decline in AOL's revenues.

The company in October reported it landed in the red for the third quarter as higher advertising sales were offset by a restructuring charge and increased investment in businesses like its Patch network of local-news sites.
